Welcome to Banlicken Arran Farmhouse

Secluded Holiday Cottage Farmhouse that Sleeps up to 12 in 4 Bedrooms with 3 Bathrooms - Dogs Welcome

Situated on the Isle of Arran, Banlicken Arran Farmhouse is a charming self catering holiday home packed with character, in an outstanding location on the West coast of the island. It is located on the side of a heathery hill overlooking the Kilbrannan Sound with fabulous views across the sea to Kintyre. Combining modern amenities with a remote location, our fantastically renovated self-catered farmhouse has turned a traditional Scottish croft into a contemporary, comfortable and peaceful haven. We welcome pets too and there are many wonderful dog walks from the doorstep or further afield.

Often referred to as ‘Scotland in Miniature’, the Isle of Arran within a short compass captures many aspects of the beauty of Scotland as a whole, from towering granite peaks inviting hill walkers and climbers to peaceful sandy bays overlooked by palm trees growing in the warm climate of The Gulf Stream.

We had another magical week in Banlicken: walking, swimming, golf, biking and table tennis. All with the sound of the gurgling burn outside your bedroom window.

Beautiful, atmospheric self-catering - literally like stepping into a world-gone-by but with modern conveniences. Heavenly sunsets, surrounded by wildlife on the doorstep and close to visitor attractions. We don't think Banlicken could be beaten for overall experience of olde worlde luxury.

We had a fantastic stay at Banlicken - multi generational family trip with enough space for us all to relax. The property really is remote but that is its' charm. You can relax in the many hammocks hung around the garden and just enjoy the views. We explored Arran with plenty of walks - one up to Coire-Fhionn Lochan with white gravel beach and worth a dip in! As well as the many beaches - the picture below is near Pirnmill, a few miles from the house - a dip in the sea was a must! The food is also fantastic - highly recommend a trip to Mara Fish bar and the French Fox too - we ate very well. All in all a wonderful place to stay - I hope we can return there again

Wonderful stay on Arran! The Banlicken Farmhouse on Arran was a great location for our family vacation. Off the beaten path, it offers amazing views, serenity, and the space for an entire family to spread out for quiet time. We’d encourage families looking for the complete Arran experience to consider Banlicken!

Delightful stay on Arran, besides the beautiful location and great views, the house is a perfect balance between functionality, pleasant decor, comfortable bedding, spacious rooms and plenty of good vibes! The youngsters loved the playbarn and the ping pong table was a blessing for everyone.

Wow! What a find this was! My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and we couldn't have landed better on our feet if we tried. We are quite particular about what we like for a holiday, peace, quiet, remoteness and seclusion being the priority. Banlicken delivered tenfold. The house was so well equipped with a very sociable kitchen, the living room was cosy of an evening with ample board games which we actually didn't use as we spent our whole time sat in the beautiful garden watching the birds, admiring the view of the sea and the mull of kintyre and hearing nothing but birdsong and the odd sheep. There is a well stocked local shop or a good co-op within 30min. Though we were a couple staying with our dogs, the property would suit families or large groups too. The host were very responsive to enquiries and nothing was too much trouble, they even left us a bottle of celebratory fizz which was much appreciated. There is so much of Scotland to see but one day we really do hope to return one day.
